I buy a new one of these every 3 to 5 years, it seems. I like the calculator, one-year-in-advance alarms, and the phonebook functions. They are simple but useful to me. For birthdays and anniversaries, you can have an annual alarm rollover without having to enter it again. Overall a very handy product. The only con I can think of is it goes thru batteries and they are not easy to change correctly. But I really like it anyway. This watch will not get you any fashion points--but I didn't want any.

the only problem is the quality of the resin wristband (I recommend replacing it with a leather one) and lack of connectivity with a PC. I had one like this for over 10 years. Casio did little innovation on this type of watch since then.

I've been using the casio databanks since they came out years ago, so i'm probably a little bias.
br / I just like the simplicity and the functionality of the watches myself. I also like having all my phone numbers and appointments on my wrist to access at a moments notice. I know you can do the same thing with most cell phones these days.....but how many times have you heard someone complain because they've lost thier cell phone and all of thier important numbers and contacts etc.
br / the DBC310-1 has space for 300 phone numbers and/or appointments, world times, stop watch and count down timer, alarm, calculator, a back lit face, and it alerts you to appointments on the display as well.
br / And the best part of it all......you're not constantly setting it down to be lost or damaged. If nothing else...it would be a great back up to your cell phone as a place to keep your phone numbers and appointments.

I've owned one of these since I was in high school.. and that was back in the days when they still had black boards grin
br /Pro's
br /the watch is very easy to program and very intuative.
br /count down timer
br /repeatable event alarms
br /DST on off setting
br /multiple time zones
br /light can be set to flash when alarms sound
br /long battery life
br /non volital memory {you can change the battery and not lose data
br /low / small profile I've had data watches that sick out on your wrist so bad it's like wearing a ball and chain .. literally!
br /this watch is small fully functional and comfortable to wear
br /CON's
br /the book is about the size of your pinky.... but because the watch is so intuitive you really don't need it except for the special features
br /and I'm told you can download or print a full sized manual off Casio site
br /no PC or computer interface... this watch would be the bees knees if it had a PC connection similar to the Casio PC Unite.
br /no secured area for phone numbers.. lose your watch and anybody that finds it has all your phone numbers.. but hey maybe they'll call a friend and return your watch!!
br /
br /with all that said
br /after 15 years of wearing one of these I had to change the battery twice
br /once right after I got it and again about seven years ago.
br /I wear my watch all the time and after all these years it still works fine but from use the letters had started to wear off...
br /so I figured my old watch had more that paid for itself and it was time to upgrade.. I figured after 15 years there MUST be a better watch out there..... well guess what.. there aint!!

I liked the first Cascio men's data bank watch I owned and when it finally wore out I thought I'd be happy to replace it with the same model. In addition to the basic watch with day and date I mostly use the telephone data storage and also the stop watch (especially for cooking). Hope this also lasts for several years.

Does everything it should (but too small)

I like this watch and liked the price even more, but I find the buttons difficult to press (I use the edge of my thumb nail). You can find other Casio watches which store phone numbers, which are much easier to use, look better, are solar powered, etc. - and don't cost much more. Of course if you have to have a Calculator and Scheduler on your wrist, this is the watch to go for.
br /
br /The Scheduler is actually great for birthdays/aniversaries, because you can see events coming up 2 weeks before they occur. But personally I can't be bothered taking it off and using the tiny buttons to type in other events (ie. "Meeting"); it's too fiddly and the text/numbers on the screen are actually quite small (compared to several other Casios I own, and prefer).
br /
br /So in summary -- if you're looking for a cheap watch which can store loads of phone numbers, alert you to birthdays etc, and has a calculator, this watch is great for the price! (if you have sharp eyes!) Otherwise, you might want to search for other Casio Databank watches which you can still get for under $100 (and they may be solar powered, have 5 alarms, auto illumination, etc. etc.)

I am completely satisfied with this watch even more with its 300 memory capacity. I gave this new one to my son as a gift as I already have an old one with exactly the same appearance, feature and functions except that mine only have 150 memory capacity - and still WORKING after almost 10 years of nearly-daily use !!!
br /I bet this new watch will last even longer .... of course with due care.

I had this watch previously. It's very good if you want more schedules rather than a lot of phone numbers. You can do both. But, it gives you the choice of substituting the reminders instead of the telephone nuumbers.

I was introduced to this watch by a friend of mine who still holds this watch in high esteem as I do. Amazon.com has the best prices for this particular watch.

We were so delighted to see that Casio had an updated model of my hubby's favorite old watch, with all of the features he had come to appreciate, such as multiple alarms and a data bank. The watch feels comfortable to wear and is unobtrusive but handy.

I have had this watch for a year now and it has been great. Since it is waterproof, I wear it all the time, in the shower or swimming. I went through two prior databank watches but this is the best. I store pin numbers, phone numbers, passwords and almost anything I might need to reference later.

My Casio tele/300 memo watch which I had for 12 years needed a fresh battery (the third one), but the jewelry sales person while installing the new battery didn't install properly and damaged it. I was happy to be able to replace with a new one which is the same model that I purchased 12 years ago and the price was cheaper then the original.

These data bank watches can become indispensable. I have been wearing one for at least 30 years. I get new ones when the case breaks where the pins for the watchband are. The watch itself never fails. These cases last about 10 years and I wear them playing sports. They are not waterproof but resist water.
br /
br /I keep all of my appointments on the watch since I no longer have a super busy schedule. The advantage is of course that the watch is always with me. I have moved my telephone contacts to my cell phone, but I keep a few important ones also on the watch as well as some passwords.
br /
br /Initially the watch had a speaker in it and would dial a touch tone phone acoustically. Neat trick which I never used, but the alarm was nice and loud and always woke me up. After this watch with the speaker was discontinued, the follow on model was not as loud but usually awakened me. This most recent model is even quieter, so I now set my cell phone alarm for wake up but the alarm is just fine for daytime reminders. I never miss an appointment.

This is my 3rd Databank watch. This is my every day watch. I use the alarm daily to jump start my day. The calendar is there to remind me where I need to be. Don't forget phone numbers (I don't trust me cell with my entire phone list). I also use the stop watch daily to test my electric meters every business day.
br /
br /When I wore out my last Data Bank watch out last month, there was no question what watch I would buy - I replaced it with an identical Data Bank watch. For me, there is no other watch.

First, this is a great watch if you need to schedule alarms and do math. My short complaints are the fact that the alarm is too quiet and it has no snooze function. The other thing, of course, it looks geeky to have a calculator on your watch--some sort of cover or touch screen might hide it better. It really is a great piece of technology overall though.

This is a type of watch that I wanted since I have a lot of phone numbers to keep track of and I also like to be warned ahead of time for appointments etc...I also like to have a calculator close by in order to figure out equations that need to be figured out right then. If any one of you need something to remind you of appointments, telephone numbers and you want a calculator nearby, then this is the watch that you'd want.
