I can't wear this watch out of the house but someone comments on its beauty. A real head turner and conversation piece. It is stunning and dazzling. The form, fit and detail rivals watches costing hundreds more. Portions are highly polished and dazzle like a chrome finish. The blue dial is purplish blue and changes shades in different lighting. The markers sparkle as well. A fine piece of jewelry.

br /This is a chronograph as opposed to a chronometer that is a swiss made watch to be called a chronometer has to be tested by the "COSC" (Controle Officiel Swiss des Chronometres). They do rigorous tests to make sure that the watch maintains accurate time in all conditions. They do have a certain range that they agree to.

br /Chronograph is a watch that has two different time systems (apparatus). They are used to find different time intervals in the form of seconds, minutes, days etc.

br /Indeed being a Ham radio operator, I use the Seiko alarm function as a second time zone set to UTC time. And its great for keeping track of elasped time and has an alarm function that you can actually hear. The second hand increments in very fine steps almost like a continuous sweep.

br /But it can be difficult to read in low light, so perhaps look at the other versions with a white or black dial. When I go out at night (ready for this) I carry a $20 Timex pocket watch with indigo lighting (wish all watches had this).

At the opera or on the basketball court, this watch can go anywhere and looks awesome while doing it... Not to mention the fact that it keeps time! I have always loved Seiko for their quality and craftsmanship. In addition to those traits, I love that they've finally given me a watch in royal blue/purple (my favorite color). All I can say is WOW!!!

A Christmas gift for my son. Very impressive watch! It was love at first sight!

The face is technically blue but really looks purple. We saw it in a store and loved the purple face. It was cheaper online. It does look blue in some light but mostly it's purple. Don't buy it unless you are ok with it looking purple. The band contours to the actual face of the watch so it's one continuous piece. it's a BIG watch and has some weight to it. Don't buy it for a small man, it might overwhelm his arm.
