I've got a few watches - all of them more expensive than this one and from well-respected watch makers. But this watch is my favorite. It looks good. It's accurate. The power save feature is really cool (I love the way the hands spin around to catch up when you shake it because its gone to sleep after 24 hours - very hip). But there is one thing that I REALLY love about this watch and that is that the date requires no resetting until the year 2100 (after that its just a simple change, though I'm guessing I won't be around to make the adjustment). I really wonder how many people think to reset the date on their watch when the first of the month rolls around - if you don't the date will become wrong pretty quickly since not all months have 31 days. So, if you're like me, the date on a watch is useless most of the time because the only time I think about it is now and then when I want to confirm the date and, when I do that, I realize that the date may be wrong so I have to do some mental calculation to figure out the date, etc. etc. I mean, if I can figure out the date on my own, what's the point of having it on the watch? So I absolutely love that this watch automatically adjusts for leap years, months with 28, 29, 30, 31 days, AM/PM, etc. ensuring that the date is always correct.
br /I've never liked a watch so much. I wear it just about all the time. It's great!

I don't believe anyone 'needs' a $400 watch let alone a $4,000 watch. To that end Seiko delivers the quality and looks (always a matter of personal preference) of a much more expensive watch on what some would consider a budget price.

br /If you're not buying a watch for the name (tag, rolex, breitling, concord, omega, etc) you'll be thrilled with this excellent timepiece. If you're one who feels like you need to justify the fact that it's "Just" a Seiko, you'll want to save up 3-4X the money and get a watch that's likely not as nice looking or accurate, with fewer features, but which does have a fancier name attached.

br /I personally have 7 watches of varying brands and grades of quality. This is my 3rd and favorite Seiko. I've yet to go into a store and see a watch I like better than this one.

I needed a new watch because my Rolex would run, but date set function no longer worked. After some research, ordered this watch from Amazon. Best price I was able to find online and prompt delivery to boot. I could buy 2 of these Seikos for what it would cost to fix my Rolex.

br /The watch is exceptional. I've had it now for 3 weeks and it has kept accurate time...to the second! My Rolex was lucky to be within 15 seconds after 4 or 5 days. I often leave the watch unworn for a day or two at a time and the "sleep" function works perfectly.

I've had this Seiko for a little over two weeks now. I love all of the high tech features of the watch (Auto relay, perpetual calender, kinetic power). This is a very high style watch, maybe a little to stylized for my taste, although I still like it. It is a very modern look.

I've had this watch for a couple months now. I have to say I haven't seen a better watch at price ranges up to 10x the cost. It just works/keeps time extremely well. It pairs simplicity w/ technical sophistication. It duels as a dress watch as well as when I'm out in more casual settings. The only thing that would make it more perfect is that Seiko figures out how to make this a perfect traveler's watch as well (timezone changes). Then there would be no reason for really ever adjusting this watch... ever.

Great watch! I have gotten several compliments. The face of the watch is very clear and masculine. It is dressy enough to go with a suit but works great with casual clothing as well. It is very comfortable to wear despite of its size. Amazon shipping service is amazing. Look forward to adding another collection soon!

I got this watch on my birthday, it is wonderful,excellent.I had a Casio G-Shock it was ok, but this meets everthing you could want in a watch. I'am a Producer/Dirctor in television, the correct time and date function are very important to have in the line of work I do. I purchased this watch a couple of months back. This i would say is one of the best purchases i've ever made. This picture in the website doesn't do any justice to the actual look of the Watch. It looks wonderful when u see it in real time. And the accuracy of the time is also excellent. i got 2 chances to let this watch go on sleep mode and when i started it back up, just by a small shake, the arms started to rotate beautifully and then came to the EXACT current time after 2 days of sleep. This is a great value addition for this watch. The only discomfort that i felt for the first few days was the weight of the watch pressing on my wrist with the kinda Sharp cap that it has..but i got used to it as days passed by..now i just Luv the watch and am very proud when ever i wear it...as a whole this is a good investment to make!!!!

The Internet does not do this watch justice, it simply looks amazing in person. The scratch resistant sapphire crystal is great. Batteryless kinetic power is also a great feature considering I never had time to fix my last watches dead battery.

Hello all, you cannot go wrong with this watch. It is a very good looking watch. The web does it no justice. Great Deal for the money. This is the most expensive watch I have ever had, I have always worn Timex, but no more. The features in the Perpetual Calendar and the Kinetic and it also has a Leap Year Calendar, which I did not need, but no problem. If the watch sets still for more than 12 hours it actually stops. Then the moment you pick it back up it automatically reset's itself, pretty cool feature. When I received it, the watch blew me away. It was delivered quickly and tags were attached and I registered it with [....................]. I can go on........I give it 10 stars if it would let me!!!!! Enjoy.

I bought this watch as a gift for my boyfriend, and he was pleasantly surprised to say the least. The human-powered kinetic movement of the watch really appeals to the gadget lover in any guy, and the sapphire crystal face of the watch will not scratch. Although I bought the black-faced Kinetic Coutoura Seiko, the gold/silver version of this watch is lovely also. Great quality, gorgeous appearance, reasonable price - definitely consider this watch!

This is the first "expensive" watch I have owned. It's expensive to me because I've never really felt like spending more than $80 for a watch. But obviously compared to Rolex's this is inexpensive. Regardless, I love this watch. The styling of this watch makes it look classy with dress clothes and it also looks great with casual clothes. Compared to my previous "sporty" watch I purchased at EMS this watch has some bulk. My father-in-law picked it up and thought it was heavy for a watch and true enough compared to a my most recent sporty watch it was a little heavier but I didn't notice after wearing it for a couple of days. In this price range (bought it for $360) this watch is a steal. For a great looking, quality watch I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this watch.

br /PS: I did notice the price went up some after Christmas, not sure why but the current $500 is what I could have bought it at Kay Jewelers for when they were having a sale. At one point Amazon had the best price not so sure it is right now.

I've had this watch for almost two years, and liked it a lot. The other day, however, the crystal fell off. I pushed it back on and put it in my pocket in case it was to fall off again. The next morning when I picked it up to take it in for repair, it stopped running. I took it to a jeweler, who sent it to Seiko on my behalf, and I just got the repair estimate back. $225, or well over half the original cost of the watch. I'm glad I was able to print out the order details from Amazon so I could show it was still under warranty. Headed back to the jeweler now with the paperwork. If it can be fixed under warranty and the crystal doesn't fall off again, I'll count myself very happy with this watch.

As the other reviewers have noted, this is a quality timepiece, and indeed, the pictures here don't do it justice. It's a very attractive (but not ostentatious) watch, and although it is big, it doesn't look like you're trying to show off or compensate for feelings of inadequacy. It's built to last, with plenty of 'gee-whiz' value (kinetic movement, perpetual calendar, automatic power-down and time memory)even if it doesn't have lots of functions (e.g. tachymeter) that most of us never use anyway. You will not regret buying this watch. It still makes me smile to put it on my wrist in the morning.

This watch is everything I expected and more. It looks great, is easy to read and never needs to be set. I won't need another watch until this stops working. I love the fact I don't ever need a battery. I recommend this excellent watch to anyone.

I wanted a nice watch that I could wear everyday. The fit, finish, weight, and accuracy are as nice as more expensive Breitlings, Omegas, etc. I am a little concerned about how long the Energy Storage Device (Seiko claims the watch does not have a battery) will last. But right now I am enjoying the watch every day. This is a great buy from Amazon and cheaper than other retailers.

This kinetic coutura is the best watch I have ever owned. Sophisticated and stylish, it has an accurate calendar that can adjust for odd and even months, including leap years up to 2100. It even conserves energy by going into sleep mode if a day of inactivity goes by. It is beautiful and functional at the same time. After I bought it, I can see why there are so many watch enthusiasts out there.

I had this watch for over 9months now and I am loving it. The features on the watch are awesome and the fact that you will never have to replace the battery is a super plus. Theres one thing I have to say bad about this watch though and it is the crystal gem on the right side of the watch connecting to the time adjuster. The gem came off really easily and is gone now from my watch. I don't know how it disappeared, but besides that flaw of lose gem this watch is amazing. Great buy.

Just received this watch. Great price ($380 through Amazon), and delivered quickly with no additional charge. The watch is quite visually striking. It is large and heavy (compared with my previous titanium Seiko kinetic), but I am getting used to it quickly. I can't speak for its reliability, as I have only had it a few days, but my previous Seiko kinetic is great and keeps excellent time. I don't know if I really need the leap year indicator. I would have preferred if it had the day of the week instead. I love the idea of the perpetual calendar.

I aggree with most reviewers that the watch is much more impressive looking in person as opposed to online. The watch is not small, but easy to get used to after only a few days of wearing. The Kinetic watches are amazing the fact that watch goes to sleep and sets it self when u just wear it deserves respect. U also do not need to set the date ever for rest of your life only if u think u might be around after 92 more years!!

This is one fine watch and I expect to own it for some time. I already own two other Seiko watches and I like them too. The down side of this watch is the fact that it is not a lightweight titanium. However, it is still far from the heaviest watch that I own. One important thing to note: if you have a very large wrist this watch may not fit you. I typically have to remove two to three links from the watches I buy. This one fits me just a little loose out of the box and I will probably just remove one link from it. It is a definite plus that the watch will never need a battery, has up to four years of standby time and a perpetual calendar. As the owner of several watches it is great to just be able to put it on and not have to worry about a dead battery or changing the date. By the way, you can find this watch for significantly less money on eBay than on Amazon.

I received this watch about two weeks ago and I am very pleased. The watch is very tasteful and elegant, but sporty enough to wear it everyday. The watch has a saphire crystal face so it is very scratch resistant. I researched the heck out of the watch and Amazon was the place to buy it. It would have cost $220 more if I bought it at the mall. Don't waste your money paying tax either. Sorry New Yorkers I lived there for 28 years, they tax everything!!! Great buy..

this watch was not made in japan. country of origin unknown. had watch 1 week and it showed incorrect date. pretty bad for a perpetual calender.

I own an Arctura SNP# 009 and have worn it everyday (jogging, work, outings) for over a year; the piece still works perfectly confirming the technology and quality. I enjoy that model so much that recently I decided to buy a similar model in the series- hence the Coutura SNP #007. I received it today and all I can say is, shame on me for not conducting due diligence. Just a cursory look at the web pictures, the piece looked very attractive. However, out of box, the overall visual impact was disappointing. I assumed both watches will look identical except for the dark inset in the SNP007- far from it. If the concept of classic, "understated elegance" appeals to you, the benchmark, nolo contendere, is the SNP #009. I only wish the SNP#009 goes on sale again at Amazon for 399$. As for the SNP#007, as much as I hate dislike the practice, I will be "returning" it.

I would give it 5 stars but the dial is hard to read if you aren't wearing your reading glasses. Other than that, it is a phenomenal watch.
