I own the basic black, no backlight, Casio calculator watch. The first one I owned, the battery lasted for 10 years (turning the button beep prolongs battery life) and I lost the watch when the watchband finally broke.

br /When I went to replace it, I upgraded to a more expensive model that had a backlight on demand and stored phone numbers and appointments. The battery only lasted a few months. I replaced it and it lasted only a few months again. I bought another basic model.

br /I've now had that watch for three years and still going strong. I bought one for my teenage son and he loves it.

br /1. a digital watch that shows day, month, date year and time
br /2. a calculator that does simple math functions (buttons are small and take some getting used to

br /5. dual time function (can be set to show time in another time zone; I've never used this)
br /6. a watch so cheap, you don't have to worry about losing it and muggers don't want (this actually happened to me, the mugger wanted my wallet and my watch. when he saw my watch, he laughed and told me to keep it).

br /all for under 20 dollars. you can't beat this functionality for the price. I'll never buy another watch. I was recently given a t-shirt with this watch on it and the caption "Genuine Bling". True dat.

I have owned a half-dozen of these watches dating back to the late 70's. Each one has lasted about five years. I have found it cheaper to just buy a new one on sale at Wal-mart or Target (or Amazon) rather than have a jeweler replace the battery. I find the alarm the most used optional feature, followed by the calculator, the dual-time (great for travel, and the stopwatch. It is very light-weight yet surprisingly rugged and easy to operate.

The watch is great because casio makes great long lasting watches, but it would be nice if it had a light. The other less nicer ones from Wal-Mart have a light. But it is definitely worth the buy if you're a casio watch fan. Nice classic look and endureable too!

I bought this for my son as he's learning math. He plays around with it which is an excellent educational tool. This item is for men and not kids; I was looking for one for kids but couldn't find any. So it's a bit loose on his hand but still ok. My only minor annoyance is that the calculator keys always beep and I couldn't find a way to shut them off. All in all, a good product, performs as expected, very good value for the price.

I have worn these Casio watches for years. They are wonderful for traveling -- with second time zone, calculator to figure out exchange rates, alarm and the like.

I bought a Casio calculator watch for a trip abroad so I could easily figure out currency exchange rates. Four years later, and I cannot give it up. It is also indespensible for divying up restaurant bills with a large group of friends. Most people are amazed to see one of these watches in this day and age, and I have heard of them going for huge prices on ebay. But they still make them for under $20! After the original band wore out I replaced it with a more lady-like pink band. The battery only just ran out, after four years of heavy use.

works great - looks great - I opted for the cheapest mode of delivery when I ordered it on a Tuesday night and received the watch on Friday. I live in Portland, OR for what it's worth.

I had this watch when I was still a kid. That was 16 years ago! I can't believe Casio is still making this. It just proves how good the product is since its been in the market for so many years!

I bought this item as a gift, replacing the same model watch, that was still working ten years after original purchase, only because the lettering had worn off. Without the backlight this item's battery last for YEARS.

This watch comes pre-loaded with the year 1980 in date. That pretty much says it all. I use the calculator all the time though. Especially when bargaining -- think about showing up that car salesman...

This is my third Casio CA53W. I buy one every five years when the battery and watch band need to be replaced. It is such a great value for a multi functional electronic watch, I hope they never quit making them!

I ordered two of these watches from "Shopemco" and they arrived 3 days after order was placed. Ordered them for adding archery scores. Buttons are a little small but after practice easy to navigate. Watch is very light in weight. Have used them a few times and they are as useful has I had hoped. It was great that "Shopemco" sent them U.S.mail priority.

This is a great product. The band is a little weak, so be careful. Other than that, it's reliable and easy to use. I do recommend this watch. God bless.

This watch does everything except have a light to see in the dark. I use it to calculate items at work and at the grocery store, as an alarm system, a good stopwatch for kids and races. It's great to know what day and date, as well as the time too. The plastic band is not pretty yet functional. This is a workhorse watch. I have had 3 others over the years. Now they are becoming hard to find.

This little watch is great. The first time I purchased a watch with a calculator on it, it was because I needed a watch Right Now. I didn't think I needed a calculator and I was a little embarassed about the Geek Factor of wearing a calculator all the time. Well, I guess I'm a Geek and you might be too, because after living with a calculator watch I found that I used the calculator regularly, daily even! It turned out to be very handy and now I only use a calculator watch. Also, the watch functions are easy to use and reset, I like being able to check the time in the time zone my sister lives when I want to call her, and the alarm function is indespensible. Furthermore, though the battery can be changed, I have yet to have to do so, going on five years with one watch.

Look, poindexter, if you're even reading this that tells me already that you're a total dork. What, you think your the next Einstein and you want everybody to know it by wearing a tag on your wrist that says "Hey, I'm smarter than you"? Just remember, you may have a fancy watch that tells you about numbers, but when I see you wearing it at the beach, I will ... and this is a promise ... kick sand in your face, throw your girlfriend over my shoulder and introduce her to the wonders of Jager shots at senior frogs.
