I'll keep this short and sweet. This was my first digital watch nearly twenty years ago. I've had many since, and yes, I searched for this one and bought it. Why? Well, it's like me concise and to the point. Gives you what you want and need without the frills. Loved it then and love it now.

Excellent watch -- dependable, long lasting -- great for nurses

I've had this watch over 15 years, probably 20. A long time. I bought it at Targ*t. I had it in college, nursing school, wore it when I started my first job on night shift and it is still going strong. It is a super watch. It is a great watch for nursing. The light works well in dark rooms, the alarm is easy to set, the watch is waterproof for all those hand washings! I also always wore it in the pool- no problems. I think I've had to change the battery and band only once. Sturdy, good quality.

What a great watch. everything about it is great except for the band. I heard that some peoples band would wear out in 2 years and know from a review that a guy is going on his 11th year without the band breaking and he was trying to wear out the watch to see how long he can make it last and he failed to do so. My opinion is that the band is fine and can last as long as the watch. But at the price it really dont matter. You can always get a better band and attach it to this watch and have this watch for 7-10 years. Very slim and unnoticable that you have it on. Swim, shower with it. A must buy definetly. Forget about those bulk G-shock watches. all anyone needs is the time. Casuals are always best. Especially this watch.

This watch is well worth the money spent. It is simple, yet has some very basic functions that make it very "useable". Alarm, stop-watch, and it TELLS TIME. Controls are easy to access. The only problem I have with it is.... I am a big man, and the band is really made for someone with a smaller wrist. The size of the watch restricts the size of the band, so I couldn't find a band big enough to wear this comfortably. Other wise - great watch for the money.

the band has to be replaced in 2 years.

I first bought it 15 years ago. It has all I need and nothing extra. Feather light! 7 years battery life! In 2 years I had to replace the band. The piece was always on my wrist. Swimming, tennis, voleyball, day or night - you name it. Then I left it in my shorts pocket while drying them. Had to buy a new piece. Workred fine until it melted, when left exposed to Arizona sun. I bougt the same. My sun buys them and most of my friends followed my advice and started using this model. Try it and see for yourself.

I purchased this watch because I had one of these in the eighties and was nostalgic to get another one. Make no mistake though its a great watch especially if your doing sports or working outdoors.

I've never been a big fan of watches. I have crazy skinny wrists and every watch before, especially the "nicer" (which really means more expensive) ones would just slide up and down my arm.
br /
br /The band on this watch is perfect and could probably fit around a babies wrist, or a really big dudes wrist. Not really, but close. It has all the reliability and function I need. I've only had it for about a week but it's already been submerged in water, smacked and what not and it's still perfect.
br /
br /I really just want something to tell time. This does that, has a stopwatch and alarm and other basic features. This is a really comfortable watch and serves its purpose well. I think it was an excellent purchase. A great no nonsense, no frills watch.

Hey, nice Rolex, sorry about your manhood.

This watch is a classic. It was awesome when I was 12, and it's awesome now; if a bit smaller. It's the perfect size; big enough to read, but small enough to not bug. I get comments on it all the time, everybody remembers when they had one. Functional light, easy to use timer, reliable watch with date and day. Perfection.

This is my fourth #F91W-1. It is a very practical time piece. It provides the basic information that 99% of users want. It is easy to set or adjust and doesen't force you to buy a lot of bells and whistles you probably will never use.
br /I have found that the strap is it's weakest link but they can easily be replaced.

This watch should not be worn in water. I used it in a swimming pool twice and it got moisture inside and stopped working. I had a previous version of this watch for several years which was very water resistant and I had no problem with it, but I would not purchase the current version again.

I am very disappointed in this watch, the F-91W.
br /
br / I have owned a different watch, the Casio W-71 for many years, and find it to be a versatile watch, but the band just broke (as they do after several years). I purchased the F-91W awhile back as a future replacement, but found it lacking seriously when I had to use it. I would have sent it back, but considering the cost of shipping, it was not worth it.
br /
br /The features are scaled back compared to the W-71. There is no count-down timer, which I use almost daily. The button that cycles through the features goes through the "change time," making it easy to change the time by mistake. (The button layout is not convenient for someone who uses the different features multiple times daily, but I concede that may be my bias.) I also use the feature to set an alarm for a specific date (the one day I have to catch a plane at 6 am), so I do not forget and get awakened at 4 am for the next few days. There are more limitations and flaws in addition to these I have listed.
br /
br /Pros:
br /cheap
br /its a Casio
br /
br /Cons:
br /too easy to change the time by mistake
br /limted features
br /no month on date, just the day (fine, my pet peeve)
br /no count down timer
br /single alarm mode
br /(button layout not as easy to use)
br /
br /The W-71 is about twice the cost, but well worth it. I am going to find a replacement band (or two) for my old one, and put this F-91W back in a drawer.
br /
br /Spend the extra $10 for a much better watch. Stock up on replacement bands at Wal-Mart or such and it will last for many years.

I am 19, and I've been wearing these watches for honestly 13 years. My parents both had this when I was young and with me being young, I wanted one as well, so they got me one. I went through a a couple, mainly due to being young and breaking one and losing another, and then I went a while without a watch. About 3 years ago, I bought another one of these on Amazon and I wear it often. Keeps great time, easy to use, dependable. I recommend this watch to anyone.

No guilt and no pretentions, but this watch requires no eye disease to see it in low light. Has all the basic functions, is slim on the wrist, and easy on the wallet. The perfect timepiece when impression is not a factor.

This watch is slim and fits very comfortably. It's a nice throwback to a classic 80s style. The button mapping is very simple to learn, and I picked up on how to use the watch in just a minute or so. Many people comment on how much they love the watch and remember the good days of watches like it.
br /
br /My only complaint is in regards to setting the alarm. I often do this once in bed and the lights are out. However, the light button is the one that lets you change fields, thus making it impossible to set in the dark. Just turn on a lamp and everything is fine. Not really a big deal.
br /
br /Alarm is nice and loud. Display is simple to read indoors and outdoors. For the price it'd be hard to find a better watch.

I have been wearing Casio F91W watches for about 20 years now and I love their reliability, ease of use in features such as alarm and timer, 12 to 24 hour military time conversion, day/date settings, and long-lasting battery life.
br / The only drawback of these watches is the flimsy watchband that breaks after about 2 years of use. I would rather pay a little more and get a better quality watchband from the git-go.

For the price you can't beat it!! I got this because I wanted a cheap replacement for my more expensive watch, while I was trying to find a battery for it. The battery for my nike watch ended up costing about half of the price of what this watch costs total!!
br /My peers says this makes me look really old, but I think it's rad. It does what I need it too, and that's all that matters.

A good, inexpensive watch that endures some rough use.
br /The only negative is the lack of good illumination in the dark.
br /I will consider the better illuminated model the next time I buy...a little more expensive, but worth it.

I had a watch just like this growing up. Since then, I have gone through fancier, more stylish, and more functional watches, but this line of Casio watches provides everything I actually _need_ in a watch: time, date, day, stopwatch, alarm, and illumination. Less to go wrong. And digital watches _are_ a pretty good idea!

It works, I've had it for 3 months and never take it off, I even go swimming with it. All functions work well, I especially like how easy it is to switch between standard and military time. The night light is good for telling the time but sucks for setting or doing anything else at night.

Received this watch a few weeks ago and I am happy with it. I previously had many watches like this growing up so there is a nostalgia factor. I have other more expensive watches but find myself wearing this a lot.
br /
br /PROS: Cheap, durable, no frills simple watch.
br /CONS: the light function isn't very bright but will get the job done in the dark (and even low light). My previous one had a metal clasp (thing you fasten the band with) with the rubber band, this had a black plastic one, but its not a big deal.

A very nice watch: light-weight, simple and accurate. Dial light could be a bit brighter, but it is not too bad. One thing I did not realiize prior to purchase: the instructions state the watch is merely water resistant and should not be use for swimming. Still, I am happy with the purchase.

My partner used to have this same watch years ago. He was complaining how much he missed it. I found this on Amazon and it fits his Popeye arms and wrists just fine. It is just as durable as the original! However the original had an amber light, this one has more of a blueish light which works just as well.

I actually have two of these watches. I lost one of them behind the washing machine for a few years and recently found it. That watch is over 7 years old and still functions perfectly. My other is about 4 years old and has no problems either. This watch has everything you need: Time, alarm, stop-watch, light, hourly bell, adjustable wrist strap. The watch is simple looking, but that's not a bad thing; I like the way it looks. The watch is very light, and not bulky, I don't even notice that I am wearing it. This is the only watch I will ever wear.
br /
br /Conclusion: Solid watch -- economical price.

This is the watch known as the "terrorist" watch, because it was supposedly favored as a simple timing device for bombs. Members of Al Quada may have worn them sometimes, like about 370 million other people in the world.
br /
br /Owning this watch was actually enough reason for Iraqis and Afghanis to be sent to Guantanamo to be tortured by that shining beacon of democracy, the USA. You can learn more about this watch and the CIA's interest in it from the Google site. Enter the watch model and the word "terrorist." It seems too silly for words, like the daily Orange Threat Alert. Grown men participate in this nonsense, can you believe it?
