I love the look of this watch! I have enjoyed it for almost two weeks now and it has kept perfect time to date.
br /
br /Originally I was attracted to the Seiko SKX173 which I came across first. However I was concerned that the physical size of the Seiko might be too large for my wrist plus reviews indicated its automatic/mechanical movement might not be as accurate as I wanted.
br /
br /Later I found this Citizen watch which looks virtually identical, yet it is smaller (diameter 38mm vs 43, height 10.5mm vs 13.5), and has a more accurate battery-driven quartz movement.
br /
br /It also has a longer warranty (5 years vs 3) which probably indicates that the movement is more likely to be trouble-free than the self-winding Seiko.
br /
br /The only negative I have encountered is that it (as well as the Seiko) come with a fairly bulky rubber strap. While this is more comfortable than I expected, it does tend to interfere somewhat with the drape of the cuff when wearing a long sleeve shirt.

I have owned this watch for almost 4 years now with absolutely no complaints. After going through several cheaper watches to wear at work and on a casual basis I decided to spend a few extra bucks to see if I could get more wear out of one and I am sold on this one. I work in a facility that deals with chemicals that are hard on watches and I also work with mechanical equipment that is hard on crystals and this watch has held up in my working environment quite well. Because I am not a diver, I am not sure that this is a good diving watch but I do fish and play in the Atlantic and this watch has held up through use in the sand and salt with very little care given to it. I am still on my first band and battery and the watch still keeps accurate time. The band is starting to crack a bit but, after what I've put this watch through, I am surprised it has held up this long. The crystal is a tad bit scratched but the other watches that I have had would have blown apart or would at least be cloudy from the blows that it's taken.

This same model watch was purchased for me 20-years ago for my 10th birthday and it still keeps 100% accurate time. The rubberized band tends to were out after about 2-3 years of everyday use. I would suggest replacing it with a stainless-steel metal band, which can be purchased at any major retailer. The metal band also adds to the attractiveness of the watch....at least in my opinion. Overall, a fantastic product !

Love this watch!!

To me, this is THE classic Diver's Watch. I've been wearing the essentially the same model watch for the past 15 years and decided to treat myself to a new one. It's durable, looks and runs great, and it's highly affordable.

Smalller lighter than I thought

Very nice watch but... it's much smaller lighter than I thought it would be.
br /
br /I had read that it was smaller than the Seiko Divers, this was a plus since the Seiko's are too large for me. However... this watch could stand to be just a tad bigger.
br /
br /More pluses...
br /The dial markers glows with a blue tint, instead of the green of most watches.
br /The rubber band is quite comfortable secure using 2 "hold downs" for the excess length that goes thru the buckle.
br /
br /Downside...
br /The Citizen logo is imprinted on the band. This is a bit much in IMO, but I'm sure that it will eventually wear off.
br /
br /Overall a very nice watch... just not a big diver's watch as one might expect.

The first watch had a broken crown the date could not be changed. To amazons credit, they sent me a new one right away. This watch is fine.I needed a rubber band because I am in water a great deal of the time at workand I live near the ocean.I am always in the water with my children. So far the watch is great and has held up to expectations. No problems except when the first one was shipped broken.I would buy it again.

I am a female who loves large watches which make more an impact and are easy to read. Many of the watches I am attracted to online wind up being uncomfortable or too big for my wrist. This watch is PERFECT because it is sleek and the time is very easy to read, but the dial rests comfortably on my wrist and the band wraps around nicely. I often bike to work, so I love the raised rubber strap (which is perforated near the clasp) because it allows air flow between the watch and my wrist. Also, the instructions that came with the watch were very easy to understand. I set the day and time in under a minute. I couldn't be happier with my purchase!

I bought this watch as a low cost "beater" but it turns out to be much nicer than that. This watch looks and feels like it should cost much more than it does. The quality of the finish and the detailing of the dial, hands, markings, lume, and of the case rotating bezel is flawless. The style is traditional and the legibility is terrific. So many dive-style watches are just too large, they look like obnoxious, ridiculous caricatures. This one is the perfect size. Overall great value for the money, you can't go wrong.

Met my expectations. Superlumious hands are visible in the dark for about 90 min rather than being very bright. Durable and professional looking without being too bulky such as other dive watches.

Bought the watch to replace a previous dive watch. This one does what it is supposed to do and is accurate. The flat crystal face even adds to its beauty. I would buy this watch over more expensive ones any day.

I am now buying my second Citizen AJ0100-02E dive watch, but only because my first one was stolen. I purchased the first watch about 6 years ago while on a cruise. I used this watch for diving and everyday use for three years before I replaced it with and Eco-Drive for everyday use. I still used this one for diving, numerous times to 120 feet. The watch ran great and was accurate. The only negative was the band, which I immediately replaced with a fabric divers band.
br /
br /About 18 months ago I put my dive gear away, and did not use it. As I was getting it out for another dive trip I found the watch. It had gained only 3 minutes in 18 months. Not bad for this price of watch. I started using it everyday to make sure it was working. Unfortunately I left it with my gym bag and somebody stole it. It worked so well that I am replacing it with the same watch!

I have a small wrist for a male and this watch fits me perfectly. The rubber watch band can be cut to lenght but is rather rigid and takes some time to form to you wrist. Watch is very attractive but the markers don't glow in the dark very long but I am comparing it to my Lummox divers watch that keeps my wife awake at night it is so bright. Look and feel is much more expensive than the Lummox divers watch.

(Product purchased 03/08); if you are looking for a good, solid dive watch, for the price you pay, this watch will do. From an experienced diver's point of view, I don't want all the fancy bells and whistles. My criterion for a dive watch is 1) It can take a beating. 2) The face has to be visible enough in murky water. 3) For everyday use and especially on dives/surfing/water sports, the watch has to be THIN ENOUGH and LIGHT ENOUGH so that it is not intrusive. And did I mention it has to be able to take a beating?
br /
br /This watch is almost perfect for what I need. While I would have liked to have seen the Day/Date as a little bigger, and displayed on an LCD screen, I can live with this watch. Replace the stock band with "The Band" or equivalent product, and you have an excellent tool for everyday use, watersports, something you don't have to worry about while wrenching on vehicles, etc.

Nice watch...looks good, comfortable size, and keeps good time. To get the day\date to work properly you may have to adjust the time 12 hours forward or backward. Band is a little long, but I have a small wrist.

I like this watch very much. The however concerns the use of mineral glass. Watch out, this will get scratched very easily. I wear my 20 year old watch when working on my truck and it's sapphire crystal is still scratch free. This one got scratched today on my coat zipper. Also, it must be serviced every two years to keep it's waterproof rating for the warranty.

Had this exact same model of watch for 12 years before the waterproof seal broke and the gears became corroded. The new one I purchased has not changed even one iota since my 12-year-old version -- a testament to its solid design. Maintaining the waterproof seal after the battery dies is a little tedious, but the watch keeps impeccable time, and (importantly for me) provides the day/date display.

I bought it(Citizen men's promaster professional diver watch, #AJ0100-02E) 2 month ago(August 4, 2008) and I have used it with satisfactory.
br /The size of the watch is smaller(38mm) than another watches(41~), so it fixed to my wrist(my height is 165cm) nicely. And also my wife says that it shows good harmony with my wrist.
br /
br /Design of it is same as the pictures bulletined on the site, so it does not make unhappy and disappoint after I have received it.
br /One thing to make me unpleasant is the small size of date and day's mark. So it is a little difficult to check the date and days of watch from time to time.
br /(if there has a magnifier on the glass........)
br /
br /Other things(anti-scratch, time accuracy, water resistance, battery life, etc.) are good until now, but it will take more long times to say these features of watch are good also undoubtedly.
br /
br /So I recommend to you who want to buy a normal size men's watch with reasonably price and good quality.
br /
br /Finally I have a question(unsatisfactory) to Amazon that why Amazon does not have any delivery system to Korea.

I've only used this watch on two fresh water and two ocean dives to 65 feet. In both good and poor visibility the numbers jumped out and were extremely visible. This is a great companion to a dive computer and will always be a part of any dives. The watch band could be longer, it won't fit over a 7mil wetsuit/gloves.

Watch was as promised...smaller than the 'regular' citizen dive watch. The rubber band is a little goofy, but I replaced that with a nice leather model and everything is good to go. Very nice product.

I received the Watch and loved it as a matter of fact it is my 3rd one of this model. after receiving it i kept it the light for up to 48 hours (past experience) but still having trouble seeing the hands on the face (Hmm) I called them and explained the problesm and they asked if the watch is keeping time? yes it was perfectly but then i explained further, they said well there records do not show anything were the hands and face are suppose to glow so there is nothing they can do. I will never but sight unseen ever ever again. I called Citizen and i will be sending the watch to then and they will charge me $50.00 for a new face and hands. Thank you watch for manking my Chrismas SPEACIAL for me.
