Very satisfied with this watch. Although the date is rather small, my 72-year old eyes have no problem seeing it clearly. That is, with the aid of tri-focals!

The watch is very sleek and it's lightweight. The mesh band is cool. The Calender date number is small. The gold trim helps the watch give it a some justice without being flashy. This inexpensive watch makes a good statement whether your in a meeting, interview, or party. Great starter piece for any man.

Best watch

This is without a doubt the best watch I have ever owned. I love the fact that it is so thin, lightweight and comfortable to wear. There had been many complaints about the clasp with the safety hinge but from day one I had found it to be quite easy to put on and the watch feels secure on my wrist. The date window is extremely small but that wasn't why I bought the watch.

Skagen men's slimline mesh watch - great value for a slim light weight watch. Not that heavy bulk. Date could be larger. Dial easy to read.
br /Skagen is a good brand and we love the Danish connection since my husband's family comes from Denmark!

There are so many things I love about this watch. It is the slimmest watch I've ever had, so I no longer have to worry about my watch catching when I slip by something. The steel mesh band doesn't pull my hair (though the clasp did once). It is more breathable than other metal bands I've had, so it doesn't irritate my skin. And the band shouldn't need replacing every year like the leather ones on my last few watches. Not to mention, it looks great. I've had family, co-workers, and even cashiers that I don't know comment about it.

br /The history behind it is this: I got a Skagen watch like it for my groomsmen a little over a year ago and they loved it. I almost immediately regretted not buying one for myself and apparently made enough comments about it to my wife that she got it for me as an anniversary gift. I'd definitely buy it (or hope to be given it) again.

Skagen Men's Slimline Mesh Watch #233XLSGS
br / I have purchased my first Skagen watch with duty free on a trip abroad; since then I was looking for another Skagen watch with a different watch face, this watch is not only affordable, by far lowest price, but a great fashion statement as well.
br /The two-tone (gold-silver) with white face is strikingly handsome, more so, what I like about this timepiece is the adjustable fold-over with safety clasp band in matching color; the watch itself is very slimline, thin and easy to wear. The watch is truly an excellent time piece and beautiful piece of jewelry.
br /Overall, I highly recommend everyone to own at least one of Skagen Timepiece.

I've only had the watch a short Time. It's light, keeps accurate time so far and is very comfortable. I like the looks and feel of the watch. The only minor nit is the date window is very small. I'm very satisfied with the quality and the price.

Beautiful, comfortable, accurate - perfect!

I don't often review products, but this watch has far exceeded my expectations and thought I should share my findings. To elaborate on my title...it is
br /Beautiful - a really sharp watch - several people have given me totally unsolicited compliments just from seeing it on my wrist
br /Comfortable - very slim, light weight, the stainless steel strap has no sharp edges or pinch points to pull hairs
br /Accurate - I set the time to the exact second according to the official U.S. time website and checked it one week later - it was still perfect
br /
br /I'm very satisfied and highly recommend this watch - it's a stunner!

I saw this watch at Macy's during the summer of 2007 on sale for about $100. Amazon had the same watch in December 2007 for half the original price. I ordered it and am pleased to say that it is a great watch, extremely light weight and super thin. I wouldn't hesitate to buy additional Skagen watches through Amazon.

Mixed feelings but overall I like it.

I bought my Skagen 233XLSGS a year and a half ago. I have mixed feelings.
br /
br /I love the thin profile of the watch. I dislike heavy, bulky watches and this one is a dream. It is so light you barely realize it is on your wrist. Very thin and generally comfortable to wear except in hot weather. In hot weather the band holds moisture next to the skin which I find a little bothersome. The two-tone face is very attractive and it is easy to read the time. I feel the price of the watch offers real value. You can pay nearly as much for a plastic cased Timex or Casio watch... a few dollars more gives you a really nicely designed Skagen. It's a lot of "bang for the buck".
br /
br /Pros:
br /Super thin and comfortable to wear.
br /Elicits many compliments for its looks.
br /Accurate time.
br /Great price that offers excellent value.
br /
br /Cons:
br /The mesh band is not comfortable in hot weather and gets rather sweaty next to skin.
br /The mesh band can easily be damaged if you accidentally hit something with your arm. In my case one of the fine wires broke and now snags on clothing.
br /The "brushed stainless steel" casing scuffs very easily as can be seen my the image I uploaded.
br /The clasp on the band can lose it's tension and come open. It is possible to gently press the sides together to "bend" it slightly which fixes the problem for quite a while. When it loosens again, repeat the gentle pressure on the sides. Minor nusiance but not a deal breaker.
br /The calendar is absurdly small and I can't read it without holding the watch about an inch from my eye. Yeah I wear glasses and my close vision isn't the best but it's too darn small to be worthwhile.
br /
br /I do like the watch in spite of the mesh band issue. In fact I just ordered another one just like this one since it would have cost nearly as much to replace the mesh band as to just buy a new watch. But if the new one doesn't hold up any better, it won't be replaced again.
br /
br /For now, I'm comfortable giving this a 4 rating. Your mileage may vary.

I order this watch reference number 233XLSGS as you can see in the catalog, the watch is copper color, I received a silver- stainless color.
br /I send an email to Amazon for they to correct the mistake, they tried and send me another watch but they send to me the wrong watch again, now I got two watches exactly alike and these are not the watches I ordered.
br /In addition the belt buckle on the first one kept coming lose.
br /Some one is not doing his or her job.
