Shopping for a new watch has been very frustrating. Every watch out there seems to be way too thick, exactly the thing I detest, especially when wearing a long sleeve shirt. I've been looking for a watch in the $100 range, that would be just as thin as my Gucci. No luck. Then I stumbled upon Skagen while shopping for watches. It was the jeweler who was wearing one, and the wonderful deep blue face with the titanium shell is what grabbed my eye at first. Then it was the band, unlike any other metal band I've seen before. A trip to Amazon, with a great price and free shipping, and my search was over.
I have NEVER owned a watch with a metal band before in my life, and I'm in my 40's. They never felt secure to me, and besides, I've always heard about getting your hairs caught. Leather bands have their drawbacks as well, but this band by Skagen appears to be the best of all worlds. The beautifully sublime titanium toned band is secure and attractive, and for those who think the clasp is too "complex" I'm sorry but obviously you have never encountered European engineering at it's best.
Finally, I needed a watch that I could synchronize to the second, so I opted for this style which is $5 less than the model without the second hand and the date function from amazing Amazon. The only thing I wish that was different on this watch was that it would have Roman numerals on the face. But this is so minor, that I still rate this elegant and quality watch with a resounding 5 *****

This is a very attractive watch - much nicer than the picture depicts. It has a deep blue sunburst dial (much like another Skagen shown on Amazon). It is very slender and the band is a standard double latch design. The band is very easy to adjust(takes a couple of minutes at most).
br /
br /Besides being accurate (as expected) it has a lot of detail in the dial, (e.g. chrome around the date window) and is easy to view in all lighting situations. But it does not have a light. The large face and numbers on the dial make viewing very easy. Highly recommended!

I haven't worn a watch in years. I wanted to purchase something to go with my business casual dress that would not be too overpowering and still be nice. I had been eyeing this watch for awhile and finally decided to splurge.
br /
br /The watch seemed to be a bit too flashy for me when wearing blue jeans and t shirts, but that ok with me. The latch seemed to be a little bit tricky at first. Once I read the users manual and figured out how to use it I was ok.
br /
br /The reason for writing this article was for its durability. I took it on vacation but didn't want to wear it through security checkpoints. I decided I would stick it in a sock and just check the bag. Once I did this and got home I decided I would wash all of my laundry. Of course I forgot and left the watch in the sock. It goes through the washer and dryer, comes out still ticking. No scratches or anything. I'm impressed!

I first saw this watch in a jewelry store - it looked expensive and I didn't even bother to check the price. Came across it later online and couldn't believe how reasonable the cost was - have always wanted an ultrathin watch but didn't want to spend a lot and wasn't looking for a showy jewelry watch. This is a great in-between watch; looks fabulous, the thin face and mesh band are really comfortable, but wasn't so expensive that I'm afraid to wear it. Same basic Chinese guts as every other digital watch - which means that it keeps perfect time and I can easily pop the back off and replace the battery myself.
br /
br /Update Oct. 2, 2007: Less than a year old, the watch began stopping every few days. Several battery replacements had no effect. So I took them up on their lifetime guarantee, sent the watch to their service center. A week later they returned it to me with not only new works, but a new crystal and back cover, all resealed. Can't ask for better service than that!

It looks so good I don't want to wear it for fear of scratching it. Super lite and the blue face is not done justice in the picture. If I had to gripe about something it would be the face size and band. The face is slighty larger than I expected and the knob you set the time with digs into my hand at times. The mesh band does not dry for some time after washing your hands. It tends to retaine water in the super fine mesh.

I bought this watch a while ago at Nordstrom's for much more than I should have paid, but I am still quite satisfied. The prices here on Amazon are very good and the watch looks much pricier than it actually is. It has not given me any trouble and it looks great. The chrome, detail and deep blue enamel on the dial go well with the matte finish of the titanium case. The metal mesh band is comfy and looks nice. This is a great dressy watch but it still looks good and not overly dressy if you wear it with a somewhat casual outfit.

I'm a picky person when it comes to watches. And I'm very rough with them. This watch has far exceeded my expectations on all accounts. Its so light I often forget I'm even wearing a watch. I've gotten several comments on it as well. The only negative thing I can say about this watch is that the mesh material of the band is difficult to get water out of. I useally take mine off to wash my hands.

br /Overall its a good looking, well made, tough time piece.

br /this is the same watch i've seen in herrington's for over $100. it's beautiful, slim, light and eye-catching. i've had so many compliments since i've started wearing it. though it doesn't glow in the dark, i don't really have a problem reading the hands in low light since the contrast between the dark blue dial and the silver numbers is so stark. i probably won't go back to wearing those huge, clunky fossil watches that i have put away in a drawer...

I really like this watch, unfortunately I forgot to take it off while working outside and the mesh band got snagged on a tool and tore. I mended it back the best I could but it the band looks horrible with the large dent. Fortunately I found a replacement form on Skagens website and a replacement band is $15 plus shipping.

I'm a bit of a gadget freak, and watches definitely fall into my gadget obsession. I was hooked by the look of the mesh bands Skagen uses, the blue face was just a bonus. It's extremely thin and light. In fact it's so light that it makes you forget you are wearing it, especially compared to the Fossil and Relic watches that I also own. This watch far exceeded my expectations, especially in the build quality category. It is nickel-free for those with allergies (this is a feature that tends to be difficult to find in watches), has a "mineral crystal" which is supposed to be harder and more scratch resistant. So far so good with the scratch resistance. I did notice one area of the band where it scratched my skin a bit. Turns out that there was a crimped metal covering that protected the end of the mesh that wasn't fully crimped. I was able to fix this quickly with a Dremel, as I couldn't seem to get it to crimp properly with a pair of pliers. It could have just been the shape of my wrist that was exaggerating the problem, so I gave the benefit of the doubt and am still rating this watch 5 stars! I love this watch, and am guessing that you won't be disappointed. The price was right, too.

I have had this blue face titanium color watch for just a few weeks. Much longer is needed for real review so star rating is not too relevant.
br /
br /Looks are great. The latch is a little tricky and I don't have it mastered yet. Date setting is tricky too. I tend to set it so the date changes at noon. An every other month problem but solution may be to reset in the afternoon.

This is a really nice watch. I wasn't aware of Skagen watches until a few months ago. I did a lot of "windows" shopping, then met a friend of a friend who was wearing a Skagen. After a close look, I decided to buy one. Amazon had the best price, and I got the watch really quickly with standard shipping.

I own quite a few watches and this skagen is one of my favorites.
br /
br /I really like the blue dial. It's an attention getter.
br /The watch is thin and light, and doesn't bother my wrist like sone of the thicker, heavier watches I own.
br /
br /The band latches securely, and wasn't hard to figure out how to size it for my small wrist.
br /In the time I've owned it, the watch keeps accurate time. I've been comparing it to my Casio atomic watch, and it hasn't lost more than 2 seconds in a month.
br /
br /I'd actually rate it at 4 1/2 stars because it lacks a light. But since 1/2 stars aren't an option here, I'm giving it the full 5 because I really have no complaints of merit.
br /It's easy to read, keeps accurate time, is easy to set, feels good on my wrist, and generates nothing but compliments from everyone who sees it.

For the price this watch can't be beat. Very thin, very light, and it gets quite a few comments. I am anxious to see how the crystal holds up as apparently Skagen is notorious for fragile crystals. At $75, however, I won't be that upset if it has to be replaced. Overall an excellent buy for the price and no pulling of the arm hair!

The Skagen watches are all top quality, and this watch in particular is a perfect every day watch that's great with jeans and a polo or a suit.

br /I have severe metal alergies and can't wear most metals. The TI and stainless Skagen I can wear all day, day after day, work or play, with no problems. It's on all day at work, at the gym, in and out of the shower, golfing.

br /It's light, super slim, and you hardly know it's there. The clasp is great, a real no brainer, and the band is ultra comfortable.

After reading the reviews for this watch, I purchased it as a Christmas gift for my husband, who has small wrists and thus finds many men's watches to be uncomfortable. When the watch arrived, I was immediately delighted with its appearance; the blue face is striking, even been than as pictured here. Overall, the look of this watch is quite uniquely attractive. My husband thought so to, and he loves that he can wear this watch under some of his closer-fitting shirts; the watch is both thin and lightweight, making it completely comfortable. Other reviewers have mentioned some issues with adjusting the band, but my husband was able to do this quickly and easily. The only thing that is slightly tricky is getting the date to switch at the right time of day (midnight instead of noon), but we were able to work this out easily as well. I definitely highly recommend this watch, which looks great (appears MUCH more expensive than it actually is!) and makes a great gift too.

I've had this watch since buying it through Amazon in May 2007, and I have found it to be accurate, very attractive (the deep blue face is really quite nice), quite lightweight, and durable. It doesn't catch on anything, and the wristband and clasp are good-looking and comfortable. The double clasp is actually a very nice safeguard, and the adjustment for size is not difficult at all. It is very nice to have a watch with a second hand that I can set, and although the date is rather tiny it's still a nice touch. The watch is suitable for most occasions, from casual to dressy, as far as I can tell, and it is a very good value for the money. Highly recommend.

I ordered this watch after thinking about it for a while. I was attracted by its look and thinness. Happy to say I'm very pleased with the watch. I've had it about two months no problems.
br /
br / It's very lightweight and by far the most comfortable watch to wear that I've owned. It looks very good--casual or more formal. Its nice clean but understated look is much more appealing to me than the big clunky, flashy alternatives.
br /
br /The clasp works very well. Based on earlier reviews, I made certain to look at its operation very carefully. This is well worth doing--the clasp mechanics are not obvious, but once you figure them out (not that hard), they work great.

I bought my watch in May, 2007 and have been pleased with it ever since. The thin profile and rich blue reflective dial, contrasting with the brushed titanium case finish, provide a striking and distinctive appearance. Amazon's catalog picture of this watch does not do it justice.
br /
br /Fitting the strap just right took a couple adjustments. But once that was done, the watch fits perfectly every time I close the clasp. My only (minor) complaint is that the date window and numbers are a touch too small, making the date hard to read in less than bright light.
br /
br /No problems with the watch. Great value for the price.

br /I bought this watch a couple of months after I bought the same watch with a shiny black finish, #233XLTMB. I highly recommend that watch as well.

This watch has good quality (titinium case and band), date, super thin, and most importantly, it looks great on people. This watch is as great as all the other reviewers say it is. I have been wearing it for a month and have no problems of any kind. As others mentioned, the clasp is a bit odd at first, but after figuring out how it works - which s easy to do by trying to clasp it off of your arm the first time - it is a snap.

What can I say? Every morning when I get ready for work, I pick up this beautiful watch with its delicate, but strong, band and smile. I love this watch, and am consistently pleased with how good it looks. At first I probably would have preferred the black one, but this was the one my wife got me for my birthday, and she was right. It goes with everything casual and formal and the blue adds a touch of class.

So I'm loving this watch. The clipping mechanism definitely takes some getting used to (taking care not to snag any hairs) but it fits nice and snug on these bony wrists of mine. No problems as of yet and it looks great! Superbly made and durable from the looks of it. Can't stop staring at my left wrist since I got it...

Stunning looks, I get lots of positive comments. Very comfortable. I opted for the date-less model because it looks better, but next time will probably go with the date model. Wearing the watch daily for over a year I am impressed by its durability; no scuffs or other damage. About once a month I have a clasp malfunction, but not so bad as to lose the watch. If the clasp was better, I'd give it a 5. Documentation in regard to waterproofing was not clear.

Very beautiful watch. My husband loves it. Very thin, both elegant and masculine at the same time but not overly fussy. Goes with jeans and dress clothes both. Took off one star only because I'm not sure how durable it will be. I wouldn't wear it all the time at work if you have a physical type job.

I bought this watch for my husband, his favorite watch that he has had for 25 years was not going to be working much longer. He really likes thin watches so I got this Skagen Titanium. He is very pleased with it, keeps great time and very lightweight.

This is a very nice watch for the price. It is low profile, so I don't knock into things with it as easily as with my heavier one. It is light and comfortable to wear and looks very nice; the blue dial is darker than pictured and looks really good. I like the clasp and have had no trouble with it so far, but I did notice the sliding part will not lock in place if you do not correctly align with one of the grooves on the back of the band. This could be part of the trouble some have reported. I would buy another Skagen watch.
A great purchase.

I bought this watch for my boyfriend and he loves it. It's slim and lightweight but is masculine in appearance. The blue face is way more attractive in real life and the band sizing is very convenient and not difficult at all. Skagen, a Danish company, also offers a life time warranty which is very nice.

Great watch. Very lightweight. The watch keeps very good time and is easy to use. The band is easy to adjust and takes minimal time to figure out.

I like this watch, it took me a bit to get used to the clasps, but now I can quickly put the watch on. The glow-in-the dark numbers and hands aren't very bright, so don't count on it for viewing the time in the dark.
Great Watch!

This is one great watch! Despite the ratings that berated the clasp and the setting of time date, I bought the watch. I very glad I did! The clasp is easy to use and completely trouble free - - very secure on my wrist. The instructions were clear on how to adjust the length of the wristband, as well as how to set date and time. Never had any problems. Everyone wants to know where I got it, and comment on the thin appearance and the mesh band. I'm going to buy another for my son for Christmas.

I really like the face and style of the watch. I like the mesh band but the wire may snag clothing or fabric.

This is very attractive watch;HOWEVER the clasp is not user friendly and does not stay closed. My husband requested it be returned because it fell off 4 times the first day he wore it.

Not easy to put on and/or take off.
br /My husband can't figure out how to put this watch on! I adjusted the strap and figured it out for him, with the help of the tiny picture in the "manual", but he's used to buckle straps, so this is not very practical for him. Otherwise it's a nice watch for the price. Perhaps next time we'll try a leather band.

Very nice looking, and the illusion of being slim ... but the clasp started undoing itself within a year. Yes, suddenly the watch would almost fall off my hand. Replaced it with a model with leather strap, but one day the crystal just ... cracked! For no reason. Skagen is junk.

Good product, as advertised, and received in a timely manner. Shipping details/tracking was provided which made it easy to track via internet. Package arrived on day scheduled by USPS. Another good transaction via Amazon with a third party dealer.

I have purchased two of these watches, I love the design. The first one had a cracked crystal after only 2 months wear. It was not covered by guarantee, so I paid the $25 + $8.95 shipping, a month or so later it was returned - with major damage to the case back where they opened it. I called the company, and was only able to leave a message. I asked to be called back and explained the problem - no call back yet!

br /So if you would like a good looking watch and you don't mind if it breaks or if the service is terrible, buy a Skagen.

When people said that this watch is meant for casual wear i didn't realyze what casual actually meant. When i first bought the watch a week later i wore it to a wedding. Due to a lot of clapping that was going on it just fell off my wrist due to the bracelet pin failing and falling somewhere on the crouded floor. Dissapointed i took the watch for repairs. It came back seemingly normal and in what looked like good shape. One day later i bent my wrist backwards slightly while leaning on the wall and same problem occured. I took it to repairs yet again. And few days later same thing. The watch looks great works great too, as long as you don't touch it or move your arms around a lot or put any strain on the bracelet what so ever.
