Description:

Classic styling and high performance add up to an outstanding sport watch for your land or sea adventures. This two-tone automatic watch, from Invicta's Pro Diver series, places a large round stainless steel case on a robust steel bracelet with gold-plated center links. The electric blue dial is designed for quick and easy read-off, even in low light conditions. It offers three-hand function with luminous hands and markers and a magnified date display at the three o'clock position. The detailed hands, in Mercedes, sword, and breguet-style logo shapes, add a note of distinction. The dial is capped with a resilient mineral crystal and framed by a blue unidirectional rotating steel bezel with goldtone markings and coin edge detailing. This watch is driven by Japanese automatic movement, which is visible through the see-through skeleton caseback. It is rated water resistant to a full 200 meters.p strongAbout Invicta/strongbr For well over a century-and-a-half, Invicta (the name is Latin for "invincible"), has been producing fine quality Swiss timepieces and making them available at a surprisingly affordable cost. The company traces its roots to the small Swiss village of La Chaux-de-Fonds where, in 1837, founder Raphael Picard began turning out modestly-priced pieces of exceptional quality, and found himself competing successfully with higher-priced Swiss watchmaking giants. Invicta's reputation grew steadily over the years. The company nearly faded from view in the early 1970s, when the new quartz watches were all the rage, but descendants of the Invicta family reestablished the brand in 1991, and its popularity among watch collectors flourished.p True to its roots, Invicta continues to create beautifully designed and expertly crafted watches, using Swiss-made movements and high-quality materials like anti-reflective sapphire crystals. Among Invicta's innovations are the first combination platinum and 18 karat gold watch ever produced and a limited edition Subaqua Noma watch featuring a genuine meteorite stone dial. With a diverse collection ranging from its elegant Vintage 1948 and Objet d'Art watches to its high-performance Pro Diver series, Invicta continues to prove its reputation as an invincible player among fine Swiss watchmakers.

Invicta 8928 - When style and quality aren't enough

I really like this watch for everyday wear! This was my first Invicta watch purchase. I am HARD on watches - some last less than a year before they fail or break or fall out of favor.
br /
br /I've become a great fan of Invicta Sports watches. Invicta is to Seiko what Infiniti is to Nissan. Better quality, design and engineering - more attractive styling at a great price.
br /
br /I chose this model 8928 for a match to my University ring and school colors. This is a VERY attractive watch. With a Japanese auto-wind movement (visable through mineral glass transparent back), water resistance to 660 feet (I've had it to 130 ft with no problems) - superior quality on fit and finish - it makes a striking statement on your wrist. It looks (intentionally) very much like a Rolex Submariner (who watch collectors qualify as a very good $800 watch that sells for $3,000!).
br /
br /Things I like:
br /
br /1. VERY attractive timepiece - striking design and engineering
br /2. Fit, finish, style and quality are superior to more expensive watches
br /3. A great diving watch for a great price
br /4. Transparent mineral glass watch back reduces chance of skin irritation for wear every day
br /5. Two tone stainless wrist band is high quality, attractive and comfortable
br /6. Timekeeping is tolerably accurate for an autowind
br /7. No batteries
br /8. Watch movement should last 4-5 years before major servicing
br /9. Watch face magnifier for date
br /
br /Things I'd like to see improve
br /
br /1. Power reserve - watch will wind down if not worn every other day
br /2. Requires a seperate watch "autowinder" to keep time and date if not worn daily
br /3. NOT a chronometer - time must be adjusted monthly after "break-in" period
br /4. 23k gold plate links on wristband prone to scratching
br /5. Too inexpensive to invest in a 4-5 year major maintenance - buy another one?
br /
br /The Invicta sports model series 8926 (all stainless) diving watch has been their franchise for many years. All 89xx series are attactive well made watches that look much more expensive than they are.
br /
br /I've seen prices from $118 to $155 for this model - all merchants claiming low price. Be careful of a vendors reliability and customer service. Invicta may not honor its warranty from gray market merchants. If not an authorized dealer - be sure the seller offers an in-house warranty that promises fast turnaround on repair.
br /
br /The Invicta 8928 is an attractive, low cost, high quality time piece. You can't go wrong with this model.

Invicta 8928OB (old bezel)

Opened the box, and it looked just like the picture. If you look for OB on the Invicta site, you won't find it. Stands for "old bezel" design. I guess Rx thought it looked too much like their's. The current bezel is more scalloped. As a diver, I like the OB as it is easier to move when your fingers are wet. I'll update if the gold starts to come off or if anything else goes wrong, but for now, I give this a: Buy it Now!

Take all of the positive and extensive reviews of this watch, roll them into one, and you have my review. I'm writing mainly to offset the one star review: I spent 50 cents and less than a minute at a country jeweler to have two iinks removed. Most jewelers whom you do business with will take out links free so why mail the watch off? This is an outstanding watch!

I was considering investing $6500.00 for a Rolex Submariner, then $1000.00 for a Tag version of the same watch when I came across this Invicta for $99.00 ! I figured what could I possibly lose ? This watch is absolutely as impressive looking and feeling as either of the aformentioned time pieces. Comes packaged very nicley as well. I've received many compliments on this watch ! It keeps great time; just has to be reset if you don't wear it every day...invest in a watch winder !

This was my 5th Invicta watch, and I also have the black and Stainless version for 6 years (was my first Invicta). Let me tell you...this watch is a work horse and keeps time as good as the Rolex I have, only 5k less. The only issue I see is that the gold layering does not hold up well in that spot on the back of the wrist.

I received my Invicta watch from Amazon rather quickly after I ordered it. I was surprised by how much better the watch looked when I opened the box. The watch looked much better than I anticipated. The watch looks like it costs a few hundred dollars more than what I paid for it. I have received many compliments from friends, I am really haapy with this purchase.

If you're looking for some low cost high class to place on your wrist, it's about time--you bought this watch. Band adjustment complaints? I brought mine to a New York jeweler and for eight bucks, and about as many minutes waiting time, problem fixed. Runs down after 18 hours? So put it on and gyrate your wrist a bit for a few seconds. Where else are you going to find this quality at this price? The money you save by buying this instead of the Rolex, you can use for more important things--like enjoying your time, instead of just finding out what the time is.

This is my second Invicta watch that I have purchased through Amazon.
br /The watches from Invicta are absolutely beautiful and this model looks
br /just like the Rolex Submariner. (Only 8000 dollars cheaper)
br /I have not been diving with this one yet ,
br /but my other model has been to 130 ft of depth without any trouble.
br /The only complaint I have is that the watch runs a little fast.
br /It gains about a minute every week so I do have to reset occasionally,
br /but that is acceptable to me . The bottom line is that this is a great watch for a great price. I would not hesitate to buy another one.

THE INVICTA IS A GOOD WATCH FOR THE MONEY. I HAVE 8,OF VARIOUS STYLES AND MOVEMENTS. I ALSO HAVE ROLEX, ELGIN, SEIKO(AUTOMATICS). THE INVICTA IS ABOUT 15-20 SECONDS/ DAY ACCURATE. THE ROLEX AND SEIKOS ABOUT 5-7 SECONDS / ACCURATE, THE ELGINS 16-25 SECONDS/DAY ACCURATE. THE ONLY REAL PROBLEM I HAVE HAD WITH THE INVICTAS IS THE CROWN. MAYBE THE METAL IS SOFTER THAN MY OTHER WATCHES, I DO NOT KNOW. THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE THREADS ,AFTER ABOUT 10 MONTHS TO ONE YEAR WILL NOT SEAT PROPERLY OR THREAD TIGHTLY, THEREFORE RENDERING THE WATCH USELESS AS A WATERPROOF MODEL. I AM VERY CAREFUL AND DILIGENT ABOUT RE-TIGHTENING THE CROWN AFTER RESETTING,TO AVOID CROSS-THREADING THE CROWN AND WATCH BASE,YET IT HAS HAPPENED WITH 4 OF THE WATCHES. MY MOST USED WATCH, A SEIKO AUTOMATIC DAY/DATE HAS NO SUCH PROBLEM AND IS NEARLY AS ACCURATE AS MY ROLEX THUNDERBIRD AND ROLEX SUBMARINER. I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH MY ROLEX OR SEIKO WATCHES , WITH REGARDS TO TIMEKEEPING OR CROWN STRIPPING. I LIKE THE ROLEX SUBMARINER,S LARGER CROWN MAKING IT EASIER TO RE-THREAD. HOWEVER, THE ROLEX THUNDERBIRD AND THE SEIKO DAY/DATE HAVE SMALL THREADED CROWNS AND HAVE HAD NO STRIPPING PROBLEMS. INVICTA, MAY WANT TO CHECK THEIR THREADING SIZE OR CROWN MATERIAL. THE WATCHES THEMSELVES ARE GREAT -DAY- TO -DAY WATCHES FOR ABUSE,GARDENING, SPORTS, OR PRETENSE,( THAT THEY ARE A REAL ROLEX). MANY PEOPLE I KNOW HAVE THOUGHT THAT THEY WERE ROLEX. THE INVICTA BLUE STANDS OUT MUCH MORE THAN THE ROLEX,AND THE GOLD PLATING SURPRISING,LASTS QUITE A LONG TIME. YOU CANNOT GO WRONG WITH THIS WATCH FOR THE MONEY,IF YOU ONLY EXPECT IT TO LAST A YEAR OR TWO,AND DO NOT MIND RESETTING IT EVERY WEEK(AUTOMATICS) OR EVERY OTHER MONTH,(QUARTZ). IF YOU LOSE IT OVERBOARD,SOMEHOW BREAK IT OR ARE ROBBED , YOU ARE NOT OUT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. THE SEIKOS ARE MORE EXPENSIVE,SOMETIMES BY A FEW HUNDRED DOLLARS,DO NOT RESEMBLE A ROLEX,BUT KEEP BETTER TIME,LAST LONGER. SOME FROM THE EARLY 1970S COULD TAKE 5-6 G-FORCES, TROPICAL HEAT, AND GET DUNKED IN "YANKEE STATION" AND KEPT TICKING ACCURATELY ALONG. THEY WERE TRADED IN ALONG WITH AN OMEGA SEAMASTER FOR THE ROLEX SUBMARINER.
br / FOR THE MONEY-INVICTAS ARE "BRAVO ZULU" ( "WELL - DONE" )FOR DAILY PEACE-TIME USE. FOR NEAR COMPLETE RELIABLITY IN HOSTILE SITUATIONS GO FOR THE ROLEX, OMEGA, BREITLING, OR THE BEST SEIKO AUTOMATIC WITH "HACK" FEATURE THAT YOU CAN AFFORD, YOUR LIFE MAY DEPEND UPON ITS ACCURACY, AND RUGGEDNESS.I AM PURCHASING ANOTHER FAUX ROLEX-INVICTA AND DEEP-SIXING THE ONE WITH A "CROWN DEPARTURE." "HANDSOME" HANSON

My wife gave me the 8928OB for my birthday this year. I previously had the 9227A Quartz Chrono with blue dial/bezel. I have many watches, mostly inexpensive divers and chrono and a couple of vintage automatics. My 'dream' watch is the Rolex Submariner that looks just like the 8928OB and I have several other watches similar but none as nice as this.
br /
br /PROS: It looks FANTASTIC, much nicer than the pictures. It feels heavier and more robust than any other knock-off Rolex I have.
br /
br /CONS: My biggest complaint is that the second had does not stop when setting the time. This really stinks because I love to set my watches to the exact time too see how accurate they are. The other thing that bothered me is that the 8928 uses a Japanese movement, not Swiss ETA like my 9227A and most of my other watches. Not that there is any wrong with Japanese movements, I just assumed that all Invicta watches all had Swiss movements. I guess for a less than $150, that was expecting too much.
br /
br /I would not hesitate in recommending this watch to anyone looking for a good inexpensive automatic dive watch.

I've had mine for approximately 3-4 years. First, the cons. This does NOT have the sweeping second hand (that is the G3 model). This watch stopped working recently after exposure to water during an amusement water ride (otherwise, I never got it wet). You will have to manually set the date for any month following less than 31 days.
br /The pros were previously stated; elegant looks with frequent compliments, great value, face and band stay relatively sparkling with daily buffing with a nylon rag.
br /I'm glad I bought it even though I will have to now buy another one.

I have owned this watch about a month, worn everyday, keeps time well
br /for a mechanical watch, gains 12 seconds in 24 hours. Runs down in about
br /18 hours if not worn. Construction is solid, well made and heavy.
br /Would give it five stars except that the gold plating on the band is very
br /thin and is already wearing through to the base metal on some of the links.
br /A stainless steel band without the gold accent links would probably be a
br /better choice for everyday wear. This watch looks very similar to Rolex
br /and Tag Heur models that cost thousands.

As one reviewer noted already, the pictures do not do this watch justice. It is a very attractive watch. It seems quite solid and was heavier than I expected. I don't mean heavy in a bad way, but heavy as in well constructed and sturdy. I have worn watches all my adult life as a professional, but this was the first watch people have noticed and complimented. I should qualify this review by pointing out I am not a guy who would spend the money on a rolex or similar luxury watch, nor be qualified to pass judgment on the virtues of various luxury watches. To me, the watch is quite appealing and elegant with the contrasting blue background and dial. It also does have a second hand - I don't know why an earlier reviewer said it does not. It also came in a beautiful, elegant box. This watch would make a great gift unless the recipient is a watch enthusiast who is aware of and tracks the true luxury watches (Rolex, Tag, etc) that costs many times more than this watch.

So far, so good. This watch has some heft to it, much like more expensive watches. I've received a few compliments on it, and most believe it to be 10 times more expensive than it was. This is my first Invicta, but I will be buying more. Keeps time perfectly, and I haven't had to manually wind it since the day I received it.

This is a great watch. It was the first Invicta I got for Father's Day from my wife - liked it so much I bought 3 more Invictas! It is a heavy diver's watch and I surf about once a week - keeps perfect time. Great blue color. I am pleasantly surprized at the quality for the price. Highly recommended.

I love the looks of this watch. closest thing to the Rolex model 16613 you can find for 50 times less!!! However, the band adjustment is a nightmare! I realy feel betrayed and shafted by Invicta and I will probably not buy another.
br /
br /The main problem? the screws (Or pushpins) on the band links are so incredibly small that you can't adjust them your self. You have to send it in to be adjusted. $20 shipping fee (ABSOLUTLY ABSERD!) $10 to do the adjustment, and another $20 plus to ship it back? Very disappointing Invicta!! I'm going to try to find a local jeweler to do the adjustmnet for much less. Untill then I'm Sticking to my Croton which I was able to adjust myself for, Ready for this Invicta? FREE!
br /
br /In conclusion it seems like a good watch but I feel absolutely taken on this one. Buy the Croton instead based on the much easier band adjusment alone.
