Let's face it -- this is a Timex, so you get exactly what you see in the listing. My only minor quibble is that I wish the date were slightly larger and in a less delicate font. But the watch works great, and nighttime visibility is excellent with the Indiglo feature. The stainless steel case matches my titanium wedding ring very well.

br /The most interesting feature of this watch is the band. The product listing calls it a "rugged black canvas strap," but that's not quite correct. The middle part of the band (about 1 cm wide) is a black nylon mesh. Traditional bands have holes at specific intervals, and you must choose one. With this band, you simply cinch the band to the point where it feels comfortable. The little hook that latches the band will engage at any point along the length of the band. It works perfectly every time. It's super-comfortable, too. After 3 months of daily use, I'm having no trouble with it.

This is a great watch. It's large - about 43 mm across from the edge of the crown to the left edge of the case. The face (readable) part is 32 mm in diameter. The band is 20 mm in width. It feels really durable, with a brushed metal case. It's also very, very comfortable to wear because the unique, lightweight band allows for a perfect fit.
br /
br /--- Details that are not apparent from description: ---
br /
br /The numerals are made of inset metal, with no luminescent paint (they don't glow in the dark by themselves). The hands of the watch are luminescent. This all doesn't really matter since there's indiglo, which lights up the whole face underneath the numerals, except for the date window.
br /
br /The date window is really small and hard to read at a glance, because of the fact that it's at 6 o'clock.
br /
br /The face itself is not as black as the band, like the picture shows. It's in fact more like a dark gray, but it's still attractive.
br /
br /The band is made of a nylon mesh with leather strips on the edges. The band's clasp/hook thingy is of the normal variety, but instead of poking through pre-cut holes it can go through any part of the band. As you poke the hook through the band, sometimes it catches on the mesh instead of going through - I imagine it might tear someday, but judging from others' reviews it seems to be more durable than it seems.
br /
br /I hope these details help in making your decision. Things like jewelry tend to be hard to judge from pictures and marketing descriptions alone.
br /
br /I like this watch a lot, so despite the small date window (all watch date windows are small anyway) I'm giving it a 5.

I agree that this is a very good watch for the price. I've had it for about 6 weeks and it keeps perfect time. At first I thought the strap would be a little gimmicky [nylon without holes] but it works very well allowing you to adjust it to any size you need it to be. Indiglo feature is awesome. Only complaint is the date. It is very small and sometimes hard to read. I paid about $42 total including delivery. If you can get it for this price or less - go for it!

I bought the Timex watch for my husband. I was influenced by a review I had read which said the mesh strap allowed the wearer to chose their own tightness when putting on the watch. It was this that made me select the said watch. I showed the report to my husband along with the watch face, his response "Buy it". Since receiving the watch my husband has nothing but praise for it, it`s lightweight and extremely comfortable. I would recommend this watch because of the ease of adjusting the strap.

Great watch, easy to read, Indiglo rocks and is something I really need at nightime. Even my expensive Tag Heuer doesn't do that! I love this watch.

I have owned this watch for over three months. So far, it's proven to be an exceptional value for the money.
br /
br /I am very rough on watches; I tend to smash them against hard surfaces, wash them unexpectedly in the laundry, step on them mistakenly and the like.
br /
br /This watch hasn't suffered a bit from my abuse. The dial window does not scratch or gouge easily; the few times I have managed to mar it, a little rubbing cleared up the mark. The couple of trips in the washing machine has not managed to stop the movement. And stepping on it only hurts my foot.
br /
br /The Indiglo face is exceptionally bright. The wristband's unique design -- you poke the latch through the nylon band material -- makes fitting my jumbo-sized wrist a snap.
br /
br /My skin is also sensitive to many metals, and while the stainless steel back of this watch will occasionally cause some minor irritation, it's caused far fewer itching and swelling episodes than the LL Bean Field Watch it is replacing (and which cost four times as much).
br /
br /Overall, one of the smartest $40 investments I've ever made.
