I love this watch. I've been re-buying it since the 80's. I typically trash watches within a year or so but I can make these last for a good 5 years or more even with hard use. Considering that I started out paying about 10 bucks for it, that's pretty impressive. Every one has survived my sweaty exercise sessions, sloppy dishwashing and slamming my wrist against things. The band can be torn but somehow I've only managed to do that on one of the four or so I've bought. And the band fits my little skinny wrist that NO jewelry fits, without having to alter it in any way. I use every feature on this watch, especially the countdown timer, which is a great tool for those of us who are easily distracted. If I have to remember to do something in a few minutes (from 5 to 30 minutes), whether it's call someone back, check the oven, turn off the garden hose, switch the laundry, or whatever, I can utilize the countdown timer as a reminder tool that travels with me unlike a kitchen timer or a sticky note. The watch is small and flat, and although it has a very vinyl utilitarian look, I choose it most of the time over my prettier dress watches because it's far more functional. This is not jewelry by any means but it's a great cost-effective little tool, if that's what you're into (and I am).

I've been buying this watch for the past 20 years because I like the simple touch for the 1 to 30 minute countdown. It's so handy for working on timed projects or as a quick reminder for many things.

I absolutely love this watch! It's the only one I've seen that has a timer, alarm, and other features and yet is still small and flat enough that it doesn't look ridiculous on my wrist. For it's price, it's also surprisingly durable. Mine went through a load of laundry once and came out fine. I highly recommend it!

Right now, I have two of these watches, each with a strap that's about to break just above the buckle. Good for small wrists, easy to reset when traveling. Replacing a battery requires a trip to the watch repairman's shop (and costs not much less than a new watch).

I have owned this type of watch for many years. I love the countdown timer for timing in the kitchen and for a reminder when time is tight. I don't like the cheap band; it almost always breaks down before the battery runs out; however, the watch itself is inexpensive enough and handy enough otherwise that I'll probably keep buying it as long as Casio makes it.

I have had two of these watches over the last 7 years. The strap broke off my current one. I am getting another one. I agree that it is the only watch I've ever found with an alarm that is not bulky on my small wrist. And the timer (countdown alarm) is so handy for my busy life. It's so quick and easy to set the timer too. I use it every day to remember to do all kinds of things. Don't know if I could live without it. I will be bummed when they stop making this watch.

I've had this style of watch for the past 5 years. This watch's band snapped in half, the band part on one side broke in half. So I bought this watch again because I liked it so much. I lost it for an hour, and found it an hour later to be ripped apart from the clock part. But I managed to put it back together quite easily. Unfortunately the buckle part has fallen off now and I think I'll go questing for another watch style.

I have bought this model of watch now at least 4 times. I am a middle-aged woman and I find the count-down timer the best feature. I use it several times a day. I also use the alarm in the morning. The watch is slim and functional. The reason I replaced the other watches was that the band broke. I have replaced the band in the past but this time (after wearing the watch daily for at least 3 years) I looked into the cost of a new band and decided to replace the watch instead. The buttons were not as easy to push since I had replaced the battery a few times and the buttons did not stick out as far as they were when it was new. I am very happy with this watch and hope in a few years it will still be for sale. (P.S. I swim with it in the ocean every summer and it is fine.)

The ideal watch for me: inexpensive, small, comfortable and has just what I need (timer and alarm). I work in a medical laboratory and use the timer all the time, very convenient. The water resistance has it's limits though, I've had to take it apart and let it dry out a few times, still works great though.

This model Casio has been around for years but is inexpensive, practical, and has a slim design with an easy set timer. The timer feature is handy for short duration cooking tasks and my wife tudors students and uses it to signal test limits, recess periods, etc. I received good purchase and delivery service from Amazon and will order more for gifts. Great product and getting hard to find!

When my batteries went dead, I was afraid I wouldn't be able to find another one, because I went to many stores they just didn't sale them. So I went to Amazon.com was so happy that they had this watch.

I love this watch. It's the only kind I've used for the past 15 years. The one button countdown timer feature should be on more watches - it's TERRIFIC. I wish this watch had a back light or indiglo to make it easier to see the time in the dark.

I've had the same version of this watch for over 5 years and I cannot get tired of it. It is light and comfortable and still has all the useful features. I work as a researcher in a science lab and I got rid of my timer for most experiments. I also use it as an alarm every morning without waking up my husband with a heart attack. I love this watch and I would hope that you can change the battery when it dies. But as long as they keep making the watch, I guess it's ok that the battery is not replaceable.

I've owned (and gifted) a surprising number of these watches over many years. Sometimes I replace the resin band with a leather band so that the appearance is dressier.
br / The countdown timer on the face of the watch (no searching!!) is my favorite feature. I use it for timing baked goods, remembering to call someone back, ending a grandchild's time-out, remembering to turn on a favorite TV or radio show, waking up after a catnap -- and so much more!
br / In addition, the hourly signal (if turned on), is useful in my professional life.
br / I recommend this watch without reservation.

I think hospitals should include this watch as standard issue with the "goody bag" they send home with new moms. In fact, it would make an excellent baby-shower gift. As far as I am concerned it is the best "mom-watch" out there. The countdown timer is SUCH a useful feature -- with just a few clicks you can be completely accurate with your "OK, only three more minutes in the pool and then we have to go!" (or 1 minute, or 5 minutes, or 10, or 15, or 20, or 30.) Not to mention how useful that feature is for cooking/baking! You can go outside to do things and not worry that you won't be able to hear the stove timer. Plus, all the settings are simple to do -- you don't need a complicated instruction manual to figure out how to operate the thing.
br /
br /I have small wrists and hate the look of big, bulky timer-type watches -- this one has the features but is not bulky like that at all. It is thin and has a small face (about the size and thickness of three quarters stacked on top of each other.) It looks like what it is -- a ladies' watch, not a men's watch.
br /
br /I have not noticed the band breaking like others have mentioned, but I have only had mine a few years. I only had to get a new one when I misplaced the old one. It has been pool-waterproof for me, and it seems remarkably durable for such an inexpensive watch. I have also seen it in stores with a pink-colored line of trim instead of the blue. I plan to order the metallic-band version of this watch to wear for dressier occasions.
br /
br /The one thing I really really wish it had is a nightlight feature like an Indiglo or something. Hopefully Casio can do that someday, without making it bigger and bulkier. There is just no other watch out there with all the features of this watch plus a light, so for now this Casio is the best thing going. I highly recommend it.

This watch is so great helping me keep track of things. I love that this watch lets me not only set the alarm to go off at a specific time, but to go off in 1 or 3 or 5 or 10 or 15 or 20 or 30 minutes just by how many times I push the upper right button. What other slim, inexpensive watch does this? It also has a stop watch. It is very durable. Mine has gotten beaten up and in water a lot and still works fine. One big problem though--replacing the battery and having everything work properly afterward. I have been using this model watch for over a dozen years. In that time I have taken it in for stores to replace the battery--even a store with a watch repair shop. Often, replacing the battery has caused something to stop working properly. Therefore, I have had to replace the watch several times over the years. However, because of the extremely low price of the watch ($15 now, $10 once upon a time), I don't worry too much about that.

I have been wearing this watch, and its replacements, for over 15 years. I use the countdown timer multiple times a day - for cooking, reminding myself to punch in/out at work, make calls. My life is simpler and I don't have to watch the clock because the watch watches it for me. Black color looks fine with business suit, jeans, at the beach or in the boardroom. I LOVE this watch!! Please don't stop making it or my life will be more complicated.

The countdown timer is invaluable and so easy to use, you can set it in the dark. I use this feature at work as a nurse, at home, all the time! It's strange you can't find this feature on other watches. The time set. alarm stopwatch are also the easiest to set of any watch. This watch is simple, practical and cheap. I never had any problems with the wrist bands. Usually the battery dies or I lose it before I have a problem with the watch. I've bought the same watch for about 20 years. The model with the metal wristband is a little prettier.

Hi. I've been using this style of watch since the late 80s. Why? It has all the functions I need (except a light) in a watch in a small package for a cheap price. I use my watch as an alarm clock, a timer, a quick timer (1, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20 and 30 minutes--especially valuable for time out for kids), and, of course, as watch. Click once for 1 minute, twice for 3 minutes, etc). It's waterproof. I hope Casio never stops making this watch!

I have been wearing the same watch for the past 25 years! I have replaced my original one several times and currently wear a black one daily, I also have a black spare and a silver one as well. There are no other watches out there with the convenience of the countdown timer. I use this in my daily life regularly, for things such as 10 minute countdown for Nestle Tollhouse cookies, for snoozing in the morning for another 5 minutes in bed, for kids timeouts, at work for timed comments during meetings in order to stick to the agenda, for timing exercises for my patients on different machines, as well as for myself at the gym. There are COUNTLESS uses for this. I HIGHLY recommend and will NEVER purchase another watch. So Casio better keep making it!

I've worn it snorkeling due to it's water resistance feature, and I love the timer feature to remind me to turn over while sun bathing or use it as a cooking timer. Digits are large for older eyes.

I have had this style of watch for about 15 years. It is a cheap watch and looks kind of cheap too, however it has one really great feature. You can set the little timer for 1,3,5,10,15,20 and 30 minutes. It is great for doing the laundry, or leaving the kitchen timer and going somewhere in the house but still knowing when the timer should go off. I use it when I only want to spend so much time doing something and the timer reminds me to stop or start the next thing. I love it!!!

I have been buying this watch since 1995 and I hope to be able to keep buying it for a while yet. I use the timer often, and though it claims to be only water resistant and not water proof, I have been swimming with it and had no problems. The batteries always last well past the two years they are said to be good for. As others have said, the straps are prone to breaking, but since you have to figure the battery is due to go soon anyway, it's just as cheap to replace the whole thing.
br /
br /On a side note, I was recently trying to purchase one for someone else, and though the product page said it was in stock and qualified for free shipping, when I tried to check out that wasn't the case. The other items in my order qualified, but I was going to be charged $4.98 in shipping for the watch. I emailed Amazon about this and within two hours they had added the watch to the rest of my order with no extra shipping charge. I wish more companies had customer service as helpful and prompt as Amazon.

Awesome watch for a teacher because it has an incredibly easy to set alarm feature. Just push one button to set a timer for 1 min, 3 min, 5 min, 10 min, 15 min, 20 min, or 30 min. This allows you to give students a few more minutes on an activity or a test without having to watch the clock yourself. It's also great around the house as a timer for laundry or cooking. This watch is great if you want a countdown timer for 1/3/5/10/20/30 minutes. It's great for cooking, teaching, photography and is very easy to use. I don't wear it on formal occasions, but for everything else it is great. Yes, it would be nice if it had a light, but when you master how many times to push the time for 3 minutes, you don't need a light. I have bought one of these watches every several years for the past 18 years. I tried Timex with a light last time because I couldn't find the Casio in the store. It lasted 3 months. I just ordered two of these Casios. By the time the battery wears out (1 1/2 to 2 years), it's probably time for a new watch anyway. Like any watch, it gets scratched or the band breaks, but at this price, go for it. You'll enjoy it. It's also small so you don't look like you are wearing a man's watch!

I have owned several of these watches. It is the perfect tool for my job. I work in healthcare and the 1,3,5 and 10 minute timer serves as a little reminder when I am doing more than one thing at a time. Twice the band has broken, causing me to lose one and unable to replace the band on the other(the watch is an odd size).I had been unable to find it anywhere for years. It was a pleasant surprise to find listed on Amazon. I would by it again if need be,band and all. I also use it for my workouts,it is truly a great watch/tool.

I love this watch, and have been replacing it with the same model, as needed, for at least 15 years now. The stopwatch and the countdown timers are very convenient for cooking and exercising. It lasts a long time, too, for such an economical watch. The only thing I would like which it doesn't have is a lit display, so I would have given it 4 1/2 stars if possible.

I was so disappointed in this watch. It was very small. It did not keep accurate time. It did not have a light where you can read it in the dark. I finally, happily, gave it away. It was a joke. I went to K-Mart and got me a real watch.
